T-bone Update
Apr 10, 2003 by broox

Hey guys, I have an update on the T-bones. First of all, I have some great news... They are making a version of shoes just like the broadsides but with different styling. These are due to come out next year. I have seen the designs and they are dope! This also means that the T-bones are in no way a replacement for the broadsides.

See, most of Soap's retailers had 2 problems with the broadsides. The first being that the broadsides were too expensive ($120). The second problem they saw was the lack of comfort. In my opinion, the broadsides are much more comfortable than one would expect, but I wouldn't wear them when you visit six flags for the day or go hiking.

With those 2 problems in mind, Soap decided to make a shoe that had comfort, flexibility, was cheaper, and let soapers have a little more creativity with grinds. The retailers loved this idea, so soap decided to give it a shot. The t-bone is a shoe that is designed to fall in between your standard soap's and the hardcore broadside type shoe.

Anyway, if you don't already know, I have a pair of the t-bones and I am working closely with Soap to get the t-bone plates designed to fit all of your expectations. I recently suggested a new plate design for a more solid grind. The sole plate will still only cover the rear half but I suggested that we slope the plate down as it gets closer toward the center grindplate. This will help with balance and allow you to actually bust out on the t-bones. Here is a sort of crude illustration of my suggestion. Let me know what you think of this idea.
