What to do when you get your SOAPs
Dec 11, 2008 by mets603412

When you get a pair of soap shoes, the first thing you should to is start grinding curbs, ledges, or low rails.

Get a good feel for balancing, and you'll be good to go in no time.

Something people do not know is that you should get grooves into your grind plate. You should get these grooves by grinding on ledges. Soon you will be able to break using the sides of your shoes.

A good example is Bryndon Smith doing a frontside/UFO.

You should grind in your shoes, not concentrate on keeping them nice and pretty. Otherwise you'll just grow out of them, make sure to use them every day if you can still use them.
