notice the wrap on my right leg. this is a week after i sprained my ankle really bad (i know some of you have seen the video of that)... it was the only grind i could do that day because it didn't put any pressure on it.
at first i though someone was doing a rough mizsuo on skates... guess not btw mart, if you wanna get technical this trick is neither backside nor is it topside... it would be a rough mizsuo, with no additional names added
mizsuo on soaps where your trail foot is in backside position is just a "mizsuo"... a mizsuo on soaps where your trail foot is in frontside position is a "sweatstance". an alley-oop mizsuo where your leading foot is in backside position is just an "alley-oop mizsuo". an alley-oop mizsuo on soaps wheres your leading foot is in frontside position is a "kindgrind"
grinding on the heel adds the term "rough" to it... for example this would be a rough mizsuo... a wheelbarrow is actually a rollerblading term, its like this only the front foot is rolling on the heel wheel rather than grinding... but on both soaps and rollerblades a mizsuo with the souling foot on the heel is called a "rough mizsuo" or just a "rough grind"
well, i dont really want to get too technical with soaps... i jsut call it a wheelbarrow cause that's what you would be doing if you were on skates... but then i guess all sole tricks on soaps would be on the wheels, so whatever. i should have just titled it, "grinding with the t-bones"
Yeah, I know it's a rough mizuo. But I was talking to Fordy once about backside mizuos and he said they'd be topside mizuos, thus sweatstances. He also went off on something about farside, but I have no idea what that is
blah blah blah topside dude i wasn't going to say that anyway. And in theory you are topsiding on soaps but obviously you can't. I dont know if i can explain this in text, but if you think about it if an x plate goes down the middle of a shoe, even though there is no distinguishable area between the left and right hand side, if you compare it to where the frame position would be on a pair of skates then i was told that this could be considered ' farside' as in effect you would be jumping over the rail IF you would have frames. But this doesn't make a lot of sense because they are not skates...and so i'll stop trying to explain things to mart that are bullshit in the future... Nice Pic though
and no mart, my argument was that they were plain Mizuos...not backside Mizuos...remember? i said that the way you did your ally-oop's was the same way as a kindgrind which i said could be considered topside...for the reason i just tried to explain. but meh, forget it
topsides can only be done on skates. to do a topside soul its basically like doing a normal soul but you are jumping to the other side of the rail. example: http://extreme.sapo.pt/gfx/199732.gif this guy jumped on that rail from the right side.
I tried doing a wheelbarrow with my Broadsides on a ledge and i couldnt do it. I could only do it if my front foot was at an angle. Ifi tried to do it like this, i would stall COMPLETELY. Its impossible to use Sole plates on ledges like this pic up here.
Derek, you sure you slid on that ledge? Because i tried it and theres no way you can stay on a ledge like that on sole plates (i'm talking about that front foot). Or are the Sole plates of the t-bones and Broadsides different?
i was there while he was doing these and yes he was sticking them. i think on these shoes if you get all the way back on the heel of the grind plate its not as deep into the sole of the shoe so you can get more of the grind plate onto the ledge.
