i have no posse, and greg ur one to talk bout posse's every time some one says sumthin bout you, mart, tanner, and all the other losers add in, and this is BY FAR the lamest pic i have EVER seen on this site, down with solid grind, broox was so much better, and i thought you got mad when "posers" sent in easy tricks, well u fall in that catagory my friend, and cess = mad easy, i can cess my sk8 box, i did it like 5 times and thought, wow i could be doing a lot better things with my life, ummm like counting how many things of lint i have in my belly button
"I can cess my sk8 box" OO!! I can cess plywood or skatelite too, concrete is a different story. No one cares. Although I think a picture of a cess is kinda stupid, its better than YOUR media
I'm gonna be on wes's side this time... Cess's are probably the easiest trick to do. All you need is flexible knees/ankles and theyre a piece of cake... No balancing skill needed. ElSpanko is also right.. And if I could use italics on these comments i would have put "pictures" in italics... Meaning pictures of cess slides are stupid, but I did not say actually doing them is lame. Actually, I love doing cess slides... I just don't take many pictures of them. (I am aware that I have a picture of a cess slide on my site, a pretty horrible one too, but it's only there as a filler until we get better pics).
What the hell are you talking about Ryan? If anything you need more balance when cessing because there's fuckloads more friction, thus you need to get your balance spot on to stop your shoes from stalling. If you had seen the IMYTA Montreal video, you'd know how steep this construction is. Also, there's a good few feet drop at the end, so if you stack you're in for some serious bleeding. I was cessing a steep ledge made up of concrete slabs on Tuesday. I went to switch from royale to switch royale, and my balance fucked up and I destroyed my hip. So don't say there's no balance involved when there fucking well is
I wouldn't think keeping the shoes from stalling requires balance. Wouldn't you just need flexable enough knees/ankles so you get on the side of your shoe? Otherwise Ryan is just really really good at cessing so to him it requires no balance...i dunno....
Marshall (pushead) is right... I speak from experience this time and almost every royale-cess slide I've dont I didn't need balance AT ALL. like, absolutely none, and I'm not kidding. I wear my black cleans semi-loose... with old skool plates, that have been shaved down so much that they don't protrude out the side at all anymore...
So apparently Smokey, you NEVER have to shift your weight to do cess slides? Any movement to help you stay up counts as balence. Get a video of a PERFECTLY still cess slide and then I'll believe you
Ok, how long do you want it to be? Marshall has some school lunch tables at his house (for some odd reason), and those were the last things I've done cess slides on... I can cess 2 of them quite easily... That's not as long as this ledge but you'll get the idea.
Actually, fuck it. I don't even know how it got into this. I started by saying I thought pictures of cess slides were stupid, not that they are stupid. For all we know he could just be crouching on a ledge andhaving his friend take apicture really quick. But since this is Greg, I highly doubt he would do something like that. Anyway, I'm not going to go up to Marshall's house just to get a video for you guys to beleive me, but if we're ever there then you can see some video. (and I don't stay perfectly still when I cess slide... I meant that I don't move around a whole lot to keep my balance.)
you little muggles need to quiet your mouths cause this trick is PRO and greg is on my PRO team and one more negative comment and i'll have shug knight shank you
well, for the record i do find cess slides on slanted objects with soaps easier than a grind with soaps, unless the cess is spinny, then it can be hard... however i'd rather royale grind then royale cess with skates (unless the cess was spinning, then it'd be harder)... and i also agree that cess pics (particularily on soaps) look stupid... but this is an exception, this is the only cess slide pic with soaps that i've ever seen that made cessing with soaps look cool, so congrats to greg for making something i consider ugly to look good... and i thought alcohol could only work that magic
i suppose ledges and slants would be easier, A) you don't have to jump onto them B) it does the work for you C) well i have no C but yall get the picture
Greg, i wasnt trying to gang up on you, i was just saying that pics of cess slides arent that great, but there still cool and i know that i couldnt do a cess on that huge enbankment so sorry for the misleading post before.
since there is a ridicouls ammount of stupidity flying around the comments im only ganna be able to correct a few or my brain with blow up. cess slides require more balance than grinding, i have no FUCKING clue how you could think otherwise. when youre grinding a rail, youre locked onto one single line, but when cessing, your feet can slide all over the place, in different directions, and you have to keep your feet far down so they dont catch and you go flying. secondly, i wouldnt ever fake a picture, esspecially for soapshoes, lord. next, im well aware cess slides are a fairly easy trick, but they require at great deal of style so you can actually slide. i also heard morons talking about doing them on funboxes and picnic tables, but i doubt anyone would try it down this ledge (http://resu.fswer.com/Pictures/greg113.jpg) this isnt on a SK8BOX dawg. really, im sick of all of you posting stupid commentson my pictures to cover up for your lack of skill. fuck off
Ummm....surfaced told me that T-bones and broadsides are the best to do them in cause the plates are sticking out on the side more than the other models. I accidently cess slided (wasnt really a cess slide) on Friday in gym class...we were playing the "Catch the Flag" game and i grabbed it and tried to kinda push-off run, and my plate caught the floor and i ate the worst shit..
In inlining cess slides are just excuse to land a trick a funny way or just to show there are other ways to skate the same-ol same-ol and yes they do give a close-to-ground "glide" (when using wax though).
yeah cess are hard...but I still do them, I think they're fun. I do them on my Storm Cellar all the time. it does tear your shoes to hell though, so I wouldn't do it on anything but Express (because you can just buy new ones)
I think it really depends on the surface you are doing them on. cement, probly not a good idea, a tile? hell it wont do much, and you slide for a long time (if it's a little wet).
Greg had flows, but look at the sole of that shoe. Only the cleans (and scabs and MB tanks) have the black that goes up like that near the top. That part of the flows is black, but however, it goes down, not up
