GL2s offer a warmer picture.colors, but slightly less quality then a VX2000, if you are a master editer and always mock up your photos/clips (each clip/photo individually) for color saturation/balance/light/contrast then get the VX2000... if you want warm nice pictures/clips that don't need editing, than go for the GL2, because the difference of quality is very slim, and the fact you wont have to edit each pic from a GL2 for warmth it'll save your ass from busting the sllightly-extra quality from the VX2000 with shitty editing attempts.
oh, and if you think a fisheye and a wideangle are the same thing, then maybe you shouldnt be getting a VX2000 cause you would just fuck up the additional picture resolution... actually, if you don't know the difference between the two lenses, maybe you should start with a lower camera until you learn more
hopefully you're not talking to me, because i do know the difference. i also did hours of research on the 3 cameras before i bought my VX2000. the VX2000 beats the GL2 hands down, and the PD150 beats them both, simply because it has better audio features. But I suppose anyone could just google the 2, read a few reviews/comparisons and then post them basically verbatim here, right?
don't get me wrong, the GL2 is nice, and canon does make some excellent cameras. i actually wanted the GL2 until i visited a few high end production studios and got their opinions... then i debated, researched some more, and got the sony.
The rail's just below hip height from the path and lower than that from the grass Also, if you look in the background, you can see JimD in the blue tee. The rail starts there
well thanks for the info aaron/derek. We'll definately take that into account... And Marshall is getting his from his rich-ass grandpa heh. So, the rail starts way back where the guy in the blue shirt is standing... Did dunk backslide the entire thing?
You must be off your rocker, Ryan (continuing the granny theme there). The rail has four kinks in it and is over 40feet long by a long shot. It is an absolute beast of a rail Actually, Dunk royalled out three of the kinks that day, but the batteries fucked themselves and we got very little video
no derek, i wasnt talking to you, i assumed your already know the difference, and for the record i'd choose the VX-2000 too, i was telling him to look into the GL2 because for the warmer images that work nicely with fisheyes happen naturally with the GL2, but require post-editing with the VX2000 (cause the VX2000 has more true-to-life colors, which is usually great but with a fisheye i think that saturated looks better)... but yah, rate your skill, if your following what i'm saying and know how to adjust the color settings on clips then def. go for the VX2000, but if your getting started in the game the GL2 is a more-than-wonderful choice. And Derek, I laugh at you for assuming I copied reviews off google, is it really that hard to believe that somebody besides yourself might have a clue-in-hell what they're talking about? I took a highschool digital media course, then spent some time at acadia university this summer studying technology/videography... not to mention i work at a newspaper, which is owned by a media company, and my dad has also worked there for many-a-year so i've had much exposure to both still and film cameras for many, many, many years now
You got some octanes in those shoes you have Dunk? Might not be, you could just have a groove in there. Either that or you have slo bros in there and I'm way off XD

Sounds like my kinda rail, that thing would keep me busy for hours (trying to finish it)
And backsliding at the end of a rail is always soooo sketchy, but it's always somthing cool to do
