Today I found a new way to make rough cement ledges a lot more smooth. All you do is rub a rock onto the grinding surface like wax, this will grind it down and "polish" the cement. After the ledge is nice and smooth just rub your wax over it. You can make even the roughest ledges smooth!!! I did it to this ledge that would completely ruin your grind plate if you even attempted to grind it. But now it's as smooth as a rail!
