broox adds: My friends and I have run into the same problem. I went through my first grip tape in a matter of weeks because I was always skating with my Soaps. You'll definately want to get a pair of skate shoes, and try not to skate with your Soaps on so much (unless, of course, you're combining a grind shoe trick with skating to make some phat combos!)
