Same plates?
Jul 16, 2003 by dunk

fireproof273 writes, "hey guys
is it just me? or do ALL of the new Soap shoes at http://www.soapshoes.com have the same grind plates(except the t-bones). they are called cememted express something..its just weird
peace"

dunk adds: Yes, you're right. All the new Soap shoes, with the exception of the T-bone and forthcoming A-side have a non-removable 'Express' grind plate.
However, if it's removable plates you're after, then listen up; Soap shoes are planning on releasing a removable grind plate during 2004 with an improved method of removability over the old plates.
They're always interested to hear your opinion on the current plates, and what you'd like to see in the future - removable plates, for example - so don't forget to leave a comment below.

surely youd have to rip your cemented on plates off the shoe to put on the replaceable plate which could damage the shoe structure? and if the replaceable was screwed in etc youd have to put the holes in the shoe yourself?

or maybe i have got confused (probably this is correct)

so why didnt they have them for the most recent ones? because people may get angry that they forked out the money for ones without removable only to learn that removeable ones come along later in the year so they have to spend another ?75 on shoes instead of ?10 on plates..... or alternatively the current non replacable shoes will flop because people would rather wait for replaceable...

but i guess im being stupid again ;)

make replacement bolts more available, the inside front bolt on my old shoes always got worn down, so i couldnt get them out anymore. also, make the new replaceable plates as durable as the non-removable ones (i know someone is going to point out they'll make less money, so dont bother) AND! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, please make the new bolts with a more common head. Like a hex-nut or robertson, anything! So long as we can find somthing in our toolboxes that will still take the bolt out of the shoe JIC we loose the provided key! i cant stress this enough. as well as make the new bolts and threads stainless steel so they dont rust up while soaping in winter/snow.

thats the same kind of extreme activity as standing barefooted on the edge of a curb to see who stays on longest, me and my friends do it all the time when we aren't playing yo-yos

they could make some plates so that all you have to do is like press 2 buttons at the same time and it pops out..so screw the screws!

bizo did that... there were mixed reactions about it.
