SolidGrind Back Online!

Holy cow. That was stressful.

Long story short - my server crashed completely, which killed 10+ of my sites... It was bad hard drive (supposedly). After getting the hard drive shipped to me and much troubleshooting, I got the data off of it... so SolidGrind is back!

* broox makes several backups right NOW.

Also, keep in mind, we are on a new server, so some things might be broken. If you see anything suspicious or missing, let me know.

Solidgrind is acting wacko, and I have no clue. I've never seen ANYTHING like this. Not even when I was in an webpage making course in college (specializing in only html and javascript though). I'm stumped as to what the heck is the problem.....

websites reside on servers. sometimes servers have issues. the server was having issues yesterday. your webpage making class won't help with that, ha.

Hi Derek, it seems several of the profiles are skewed after the restore effort. Under the comments part, mine says "Warning: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource in /mnt/stor15-wc1-ord1/333329/www.solidgrind.com/web/content/includes/db.php on line 43". There is also one with the security guard that hates soap shoes that is broken, but I don't have the link. I'd really recommend changing servers though.

sorry steve, wasn't an indexing error - the new server has a newer version of mysql, which is a little more strict on some of the sql syntax.

I did too. I tried accessing Derek's other sites as well, and none worked except www.broox.com.

I'm not sure if this is the same problem other people were having, but it happened to me about the same time... It seems the server's bandwith is all getting eaten up. I daresay you might need a larger server to handle all the traffic, Broox. At least, that's what I'm getting from the error text. =\

Weirdly, I've not experienced any kind of trouble like this since the switchover. I'm sure such problems would be experienced on the other sites that Derek's moved over to the new server, so if the problems are universal in that sense then I reckon he'd be sorting it
