Jun 20, 2006 by Kasperchaos Do you think it would be possible to buy replacement plates, and then put those on normal shoes? Thanks. Replies

MGM has got it, both Soap shoes and Heelys utilize a very tall base to accommodate for the grindplate/ and or wheel, while trying to provide reasonable comfort. Slapping a grindplate on any old shoe wouldn't work too well. But if you were desparate, which even so I wouldn't recommend this, if you can find a way to gouge out an arch in your soles, with a decent amount of it left for your foot's sake, you could get half of a large PVC pipe and cement that on there. Still, if you try pulling grinds that need tweakage, you will probably tear your shoe over time, and your grindplate won't last for even a week.
In the end, you'd be better off stealing a pair of Soaps.
I don't advise that you do that, though.

When I was talking about gouging soles, I was talking about your shoes' soles. Not your feet... ouchie momma.
