Really you can use any song/genre you want. When you're editing the video and you get the feeling that a song compliments it very well or you're able to sync up grinds and beats, then you're good.

Usually is rock and house, along with some J-rock/J-pop. =D

"Escape from the City" isn't really a good selection.
And Crush 40 certainly makes it sound cheesy, as the same goes for most of their other tunes. Johnny's "ooooh"s and "yeeeah"s often sound fit for a commercial about Transformers or Hot Wheels, etc.
Some of you are probably pissed off at me for saying this, because you used it.
Consider this one of the boldest things I will ever say.

its whatever you enjoy listening to!
If its for a video, then i guess you would have to be more selective, choose something that fits the pace/theme of the vid.
if its fast grinds and all out madness. Then maybe some punk, heavy rock, dance etc.
If its a little slower-paced and technical, maybe some hip-hop, electronic, trip-hop, rap.
but seriously, there really isnt any such thing as 'skater music/golf music/soccer music/boxing music/soaping music'.
You listen to music for the enjoyment of it and if theres some tracks that really get you in the mood to bust-out some mad tricks. then rock-on.
but dont start Labeling it as 'soapers music' as everyone has different tastes.
create your own style, enjoy the music you like and have fun with it.
