well DURH! why make a soap shoe without plates...

May 14, 2006 Louis

i never heard of these. Maybe regular skate shoes is a market that soap should have pursued. Iff they get enough recognition as regualr shoe makers then their grindshoes might have stood more of a chance

May 15, 2006 Wesker

These shoes were sick. I wish I had money when they came out but as I understand it, they were'nt out for very long.

May 31, 2006 AnthoFlex

According to Steven Deel, there is another plateless Soap Shoe.....called the "Trounce" *creepy music starts playing*

Jun 23, 2006 AnthoFlex

I really wouldnt mind having these....im a sk8r/Soaper....and they look cool....i would love to have them

Jul 24, 2006 Soaplover

why call them soap shoes when you can't soap!

Jul 24, 2006 Mart

Because 'Soap' is the brand. Don't be a moron

Aug 26, 2006 SigmaPoe

"Grind" is the proper term SL but yeah since soap is the first company to do the whole grind thing with out board or with out pegs or even normal grind wax so "Soaping" would be a good way to say it since Soap where the orignals on the major market

Aug 26, 2006 Mart

...'Soap' is already an established verb when it comes to grinding with shoes, don't try and be smart

Oct 1, 2006 AnthoFlex

I dun care what anyone says, these things are
1. sexy
2. So what if they dunt have a plate?

Besides, im getting my pair 2morrow

Mar 5, 2007 matrix8967

man, I want some of these so bad.

Mar 5, 2007 guero12

Hey did everyone see the Letter from HSL.
If you havent you should check it out.
click on forum at the top of the page.

Mar 5, 2007 RamenRadio

I'd like a pair of these. I doubt HSL would release them though.

Mar 18, 2007 Surfaced

Renny, I think the soles of your charcoal pair are different than what is shown because the sole picture there is that of the grey colorway. A strange decision to mix them up like that.

Mar 18, 2007 Surfaced

I thought I said this before, but seeing as I didn't, I will now... I love the grey colorway, along with the blue one. Good stuff, I'd wear those on any day where I didn't want my other Soaps.

Mar 19, 2007 RamenRadio

I miss these shoes

Mar 24, 2007 rhinoskater30

I've seen these at an outlet Journeys in San Marcos. At first I didn't think they were Soaps. They were. I never saw them again.

Apr 18, 2007 Tasslehoff

*yawn* no grindplate *yaaaaaawn*

Jun 11, 2007 josue

boring

Jun 11, 2007 RamenRadio

Stupid idiot

Jun 26, 2007 Megashadow77

Does anybody know where I can get these in size 10?

Jun 26, 2007 Megashadow77

Does anybody know where I can get these in size 10?

Aug 19, 2007 Megashadow77

I want these.

Aug 19, 2007 greenfire8484

they actually look pretty nice. I honestly think it was a good idea that Soap made non-grinding shoes, since people (as far as i know) like Soap's shoe designs.

Aug 23, 2007 JeiHeirumaru

I have a pair of Airwalks that look almost like these

Aug 23, 2007 AnthoFlex

I used to sk8 in my spins but not anymore, i sk8 in my Blue cleans now, lol

Aug 24, 2007 xJeremiahx

I skate in $20 "power" brand shoes. They look nice but it doesn't matter cause they end up trashed in a couple weeks anyways.

Aug 24, 2007 sonic

renny what size are your spins?
if you are willing to part with them, of course.

Aug 24, 2007 AnthoFlex

size 9

Aug 25, 2007 iwantsoapshoes

aahh. too small.

Aug 26, 2007 ZOMGSCORCHERS

Wow, I have bigger feet than AnthoFlex, yay.

And you know what the say about big feet...

Big socks. (oh btw before anyone asks how big my pe..Shoe size is I'm a U.K. 8.5/9 (U.S. 9.5/10)

Aug 26, 2007 greenfire8484

lol
big socks. love it.

Aug 26, 2007 Page645

ZOMG ur size 10 U.S.? wat shoes do you have?

Aug 31, 2007 PixelEater

A normal shoe from Soap might seem counter-intuitive, but I agree with Louis' comment at the top of the page. If Soap had pursued a line of shoes like this they might have played the market better.

Aug 31, 2007 juno

I agree. If soap would have persued these it would stil be on the market none the less

Aug 31, 2007 Altman

Eh, not really. They could pour as much money into these as they can but Soaps aren't Soaps without the grind plate.

Sep 1, 2007 Page645

what the hell are you talking about AJ? the skateboarding business is a HUGE market there would have been a good amount of profits to come from these shoes if the effort was put in AND soaps were known by the big skaters and the shoes were worn by them

Sep 1, 2007 Altman

Of course it's a huge market, with that said let's not forget other skate shoe businesses like DC and Vans who are pretty much known for their shoes and clothes. Soaps are known for one synonymous thing, grind shoes. People would be interested mostly in grind shoes, not Soap skate shoes. Let's not overlook the fact that the last sentence in my comment was simply my views on Soap. If I want regular shoes I can always buy a pair of Chuck Taylors.

Sep 1, 2007 Page645

my bad didnt read it clearly. but wat i meant was that these shoes would be perfect for skaters who dont want soaps but still want them know what i mean? chuck taylors XD

Sep 1, 2007 Altman

Hey, don't disrespect muh Chucks, yo! XD

Sep 1, 2007 RamenRadio

ah ah ah, you don't see what the point of those shoes were in the first place Mr. Altman :P

What if someone buys a pair of these shoes for skateboarding? and after they skate in them and stuff, they will probably think "woa, these are some pretty comfortable shoes! I wonder why they call them soap shoes though?".

Boom, they go on soapshoes.com, and they see all the pics and such of people grinding. Do I need to go further?

Yeah, sure these are a great pair of shoes to sk8 in, and yes, the soap shoes are meant to grind and not to exactly go into the skateboarding market.

HOWEVER, what I have just said induces more interest in a product, and possibly more profit from a consumer.

Sep 1, 2007 Megashadow77

Yeah, some people like caramel, some people like chocolate. Why not dip on in each?

Sep 1, 2007 Megashadow77

*one in

Sep 1, 2007 RamenRadio

XD Well said Michael :P

Sep 1, 2007 PixelEater

Before HSL, soaps had some really unique styling and stood out. It makes sense that some people would enjoy the styling without the plates. I'm not even saying this shoe was exactly the posterboy for that, but a whole lineup of these sort of shoes would have something for almost everyone.

Sep 1, 2007 juno

What if they made a conversion shoe? Both a SOAP grinder and a SOAP skater?Kinda like a 2in 1. Not that u cant skate with SOAPs but just saying. The tech-deck dude?

Sep 1, 2007 Altman

Yes but then again I could just get a pair of Maxwells and wouldn't have to spend money on an extra pair of shoes.

Sep 1, 2007 RamenRadio

Yeah, but that's you, not a skateboarder. A skateboarder would be looking for a limited amount of things made by soap shoes until they found out what soap shoes and soaping was:

Skateboarding shoes

Wax

The spins or the trouce shoes with no grind plate would make them see what soap shoes is for themselves.

If they were to get a regular pair of soap shoes, they wouldn't know wtf was going on, they wouldn't know anything about the maxwell plates, they wouldn't know anything

The spins and the trouce would give them interested in soap shoes.

Sep 1, 2007 Altman

But then again the majority of skaters are posers so it wouldn't work out as well.

Sep 1, 2007 RamenRadio

That's extremely vague......

Sep 1, 2007 AnthoFlex

I dunno, i found that sk8ing in my spins is a bad way of promoting soaps. Because people are always asking me "where are the soaps dude?"

And i say "hey, im wearing em now *points to spins*"

And then they always tell me how "not Soap" that is, even if it says Soap on it. and besides, cleans look like normal sk8 shoes anywayz. So i always have my cleans on me to sk8 with some curb busters in em

Jan 31, 2010 Brad

There shoes look doooope.

Mar 7, 2010 Brad

I think that instead of no grind plate, they should've just come standard with Maxwells.

Apr 26, 2013 Revengasaur

I think these are sick.

Apr 27, 2013 Relate2Videos

They do :/ let me know if you find a pair

Oct 10, 2013 mcgrinder2011

anybody actually try these things?

Jan 13, 2015 Waffle

Questions: 1.What is the Trounce shoe and anybody got pix? 2.Why are these on the forum? 3.Did the box of these feature the dude on the box grinding?

Jan 15, 2015 mcgrinder2011

1. I have no clue and I have no pix...
2. These are in fact Soap shoes. Just ones without plates.
3. I've never seen a Spin box but I'm sure Soap would've used the same box no matter what. If they didn't use the "dude grinding" box; they would've used the other blue/yellow boxes that older models came in.

Jan 15, 2015 Waffle

Hmm I dont got a blue yellow box but I have MB Tanks from 1998.
