Sep 11, 2002 by broox I know you all have heard way too much about september 11, 2001... and you've probably noticed that every person in the country has suddenly gotten "pride" for their country. ...but since it was a year ago today, I thought it'd nice to mention and think about it. It's sorta crazy to see the jets flying around today. If any afghans/terrorists are stupid enough to even speak in our country on this day... they've got it coming to them. Anyway, remember 9/11/01. Here's a couple things I remember: The first thing I remember is waking up to my neighbor saying, "Broox, did you see this shit!?" I walk over in his room and looked at the TV, 1 tower was smoking. Right then, a plane slammed into the second one. Quite a shock. I ran back to my room and woke kevin up, "DUDE, the WTC towers are gone!" I had a really good friend who was living right next to the empire state building at the time. I remember trying to get a hold of her ALL day. In the evening she called, crying, telling me how she had to evacuate, how people were running all through the streets. She said hundreds of people ran out of the subway tunnels due to bombs and threats within them. She also said some lady's gave up and stopped running, dropped to the ground and cried. I remember her telling me how she had to grab one of them to make her run again. She had her mom drive out and pick her up from 15 hours away and take her home. She told me she'd never go back to new york again. The couple days that she was waiting to be picked up, she said she was greeted by men with guns every day, and walked around corners to see army tanks driving right toward her... crazy. I also remember the damn gas stations, all going up to like $4 for a few hours. Lines were backed up for miles due to the scare for gas price inflation. Login or sign up to comment
