Ouch.

aims writes, "Well, I got my first pair of soaps about a week ago. So, being really anxious to try them out, I set up a rail of a pipe on two cinder blocks. I tried out my "rail" and I figured I did pretty good for my first try (I did a frontside)so anyways, me being stupid, unbalanced and on top of that, a clutz, I tried to do a unity. Like, how stupid am I eh? I kinda did it, but as i was trying to get off, my foot got caught inside the hole on a cinder block, I flew foreward, smashed my jaw and landed on my chest. (that wouldnt be so bad if I wasn't girl, and man did that hurt) but the worst part was that I broke my foot. 6 weeks in a cast. I am going insane already!"

alexei adds: Another young soaper learns the hard way unfortunately. Unless your an inline blader, you've got to take soaping one step at a time! Make sure you've got one trick down before you try another, i.e. it's much easier (and *cough* safer) to learn unities once you can pull off torques, backslides, or fastslides.

Secondly, try your first grinds on PVC pipes laid directly on the ground. This way you won't have to worry about catching cinder blocks and you'll have much softer lands. Good luck with the healing!
