Hey,! New moron dude asking for tips...
Oct 1, 2008 by Soapnoob

Greetings all. I'm a soaper from portugal (perhaps even the only one :x). I've started around 3 weeks ago and as my nickname says, I'm a noob. Since I'm the only one around here to practice soaping I was hopeing you guys could give me some tips on the subject.
btw, my soaps, or in this case, heelys (whit grind plate. Model name: Five-0) were the only ones I could get, and I had to order them from the US, since there's no such thing as "grind shoes" in this shithole little country wich I'm ashamed to call mine --'

anyway, here are some questions:

1-would you advise me to put wax on the grind
plates, as skaters do on rails?

2-what's the best position to keep your balance?

3-I'm still a little wierd about hittng a stair rail (falling etc...). which move do you advise me to do for my first grind on a vertical rail?

these are the first of some questions. thanks for helping me out, since your the only conection I have to this awesome sport ;)

cheers!

1. You don't wax the plates, you wax whatever surface you're grinding. This can range from ledges to rails or whatever.

2.The simple frontside grind, with your feet shoulder-length apart and your knees slightly bent is suitable.

3.Once again, the simple frontside.

1. yeah, that of the wax on the rails i'm aware of. but the other day i grinded a waxed rail an some wax was stuck to my plates. as i went to rail an unwaxed rail, i grinded perfectly. so i thought: how about waxing the plates instead of the rails? thanks dough.

2. thanks. but an UFO is suitable to, or not?

3. cheers.

and now:

4. any advise for a well done royale? i've tried it a couple of times, but my feet tend to be faster than my body(even if bend forwards) and i almost bussted my wirst a couple of times while crashing from a screwed up royale :s

Yes, a UFO is also suitable. A well-done Royale is done with the knees bent to a good amount with enough balance to lean to your back foot, thus allowing someone in front of you to see the bottoms of both of your shoes. Here are 5 good examples.
