This is a promotional video that Soap Shoes put out in 2000 for the Holidays. There is a lot of recycled video, but it's all good nonetheless.

There is also a blip of someone "hovering by" in what seem to be shoes. But it wouldn't be found out until later that those were Soaps with wheels in them... An idea that Roger Adams came to Soap Shoes with. However Soap didn't think they'd catch on, haha. So Roger Adams started this little company called "Heelys."

Anyway, Santa Claus is played by Bryndon Smith.

Location: Los Angeles, CA
Music: Simon Says - Life Jacket

a VERY VERY Merry Christmas indeed. Nice video, i loved it

i loved the video too. I think Roger Adams had the last laugh with eventually buying out SOAP. I wonder if he had a grudge at SOAPs for not taking the idea, and that's why he bought SOAP out when he had the chance.

Why did they put a Heely in there? Dunno.....that Heely killed that clip

Sep 15, 2006 Slidey

But if he has still got a grudge on SOAP then... were kinda screwed :S

Awsome video.

I cant believe it....those arent Heelys....The Soap logo AND Slobro plates are visible in the shoe

Nov 18, 2006 SonicSoaper

Well Antho, we'll have to admit it. If Soap had accepted the shoe, they'd be more well-known. But look at it this way. Without Soap shooting them down, Heelys would've never been a huge success. That and Soap technically owns Heelys. Remember when that Heelys guy tried to convince you Soap was dead. If I was there with you, I'd lift of my foot and say "If Soap is dead then why do you have the plates on your shoes? See that parallelagram? That's the Soap logo. End of story!"

*up

Because soaps can never die! RESPECT!

.. *mumbles* The wheel in the sole thing gets old fast though.. after about 2 hours of screwing out.. It was fun at first but it just looses its fire because doing something like doing a 180 and going backwards takes twice the effort then on a freaking unicycle!

Nov 19, 2006 Kru

I left something out of that.. to the guy who invented heelys. He had an idea.. a wheel in your shoe. But he never thought to test it out first! These are the kind of things that you do that is. Well it is a good idea in THEORY.. it actually is more riskier then sliding down a rail. You don't look cool heeling at all either.. and the only people that adorn or look up to you are kids or the 'strange' bunch...

Nov 19, 2006 SonicSoaper

There is a rail in a stairwell in my school. It's perfect. I always say to myself, one day.I hope to make one day some day and finally ride that baby.

Nov 19, 2006 Kru

nice.. theres this rail i always wanna hit in my mall.. everytime I go by it ..I get juxtaposed "what if I fall.. " . Sometimes you have to screw the what if and take the plunge. I almost did it today but then I wussed out.

Nov 19, 2006 SonicSoaper

Yeah, same here. It's that you've got cameras everywhere now, there are too many people around, and I'm not really sure if I'm ready for handrails yet.

Nov 20, 2006 Kru

I like the people around kinda.. cause then I want some group of kids to go like "F...ing awesome dude!"

Nov 20, 2006 SonicSoaper

Yeah that's true. But it's that there are too many people where you can't even move.

Nov 20, 2006 Kru

... I know what feeling. Damn holidays are cramming 40% more people into a space that wasn't designed for that man.

Then there are the kooks that actually use the railing so when your about to go "lets go!" ... they completely blow the chance and the mindset. Not to mention soccer moms.. ugh!

Dec 3, 2006 JVilleSoaper

haha alot of nice LONG grinds
but i think i saw heelys
wtf were there heelys

Dec 28, 2006 Rynasty

Wait a minute Kru, how is rolling around on flat pavement on your HEELS more dangerous than sliding down a handrail in your shoes? At least you were right about heelys not being cool...

Dec 29, 2006 Kru

Because one wheel is never completely stable. Especially on the weakest point of the body. Your entire weight of the body is being pressured on these wheels. The motion is unpredictable, just as a unicycle being able to ride it is a series of mistakes.

Soaping is a controlled motion. You have to make action to have action. Heeling is a series of mistakes that you can never obtain complete control of, do to a simple anatomy lesson.

Thats why soaping is safer then heeling. You can hurt yourself in more ways then one with heelys.

Dec 29, 2006 Slidey

I don't agree with that... soz
I agree that falling with Heely's is easier, but your so close to the ground that you would have to be completely bad at recovering falls/stumbles to get hurt by using Heelys, (or you could be a kid).
Whereas on Soaps, if you stumble (which doesn't happen often) you can seriously hurt yourself (depending on what rail you are trying).

Dec 29, 2006 AnthoFlex

If everyone read the petition, you would know that those arent Heelys....they are indeed....SOAP SHOES... im not kidding

Dec 29, 2006 Kru

Yes but with the Soaps you are causing your own action, own self destruction. You can't just start soaping on any surface. Heelys are always on if the wheel is in place what could happen is unpredictable. Like sidewalk grooves, rain fractures in the road or steep hills.

Soaping uses friction and inertia. Heeling uses momentum inertia and velocity.

I rather take a bail on a rail I am controlling completely then roll around somewhat in control. I guess its hard to explain when there are people who haven't tried heelys as I have. Damn that posture is so uncomfortable.

Dec 29, 2006 Slidey

Yeah your right about the fact that it's unpredictable, but people like me find it hard to think somthing so... low and near to the ground could be so dangerous

Dec 29, 2006 AnthoFlex

Kru, what are you talking about? Im just letting every1 know that those arent Heelys :)

Jan 20, 2007 Rynasty

Sorry, but soaping will always be more dangerous than heeling. That's where the fun is isn't it? Grinding down a rail knowing that if you fall you're going to fall down 2.5 feet onto some stairs. Heelys? Oh no, im going to slip off my heel and land on my bum on the ground. The only way it could be more dangerous is if you combine heeling and soaping, but that idea is just retarded.
