Extreme Segway
Jan 15, 2004 by derek

Hopefully you all remember that invention that was supposed to "revolutionalize travel" back in 2001 called the Segway. If not, some dude told everyone that he had this top secret project that would revolutionalize the way we travel. That is all he told media for a year... He gave them no clues. Anyway, on the launch day, he was on morning news shows introducing his cool "self balancing scooter." You don't have to push it or anything, just lean in the direction you want to go. If you ask me, the thing is dumb... brilliant... but dumb. Their website is www.segway.com if you have no idea what I'm talking about.

Anyway, if you're going to make a new transportation device, it's not going to be long until someone makes it into a sport... let alone an extreme sport. Check out this website: http://7pounds.net/users/extreme_segway/.

Or maybe this is all photoshopped.

also, that X on their logo is exactly like the X in broox.com... weeeird.

Those guys are totally riding BMXes. There's a little bit of funky white highlighting around the Segway in the second picture, this has to be Photoshop.

yah, they're bmx pictures, every picture is a bmx pro at a bmx event, and every picture has tell-tale signs of photoshopping (grain in photo, little or no grain on the segway)

Jan 15, 2004 dunk

blatantly, photoshopped.

Jan 16, 2004 Wesker

Hmm. Also a lil off topic make your own segway :P

Yeah, and if the GT - Number 1 in BMX didn't tip you off, kill yourself.

I seriously hope you didn't think this was genuine, Derek...

the way derek says it, i believe he created it. (saying about how the x and the x are the same)? Just a thought.

Jan 16, 2004 fiz

take a look at the extended text, obviously derek suspected it. and jordan, isn't this mana fsw site your 3rd or 4th? You'd do a bit better if you'd just stick with one name and site.

Jan 16, 2004 Smokey

and if he would actually get some decent media like he keeps saying he will...

And if he just keeled over and died

i got a couple pictures, i'll work more on my site PURPLE PENGUINS later. mana fsw coincedently there is a mana skate team, so that got canned to (i got a nice little copyright letter saying "delete your site, or else" from them.), so I had to change it, FOR FINALNESS. http://www.freewebs.com/purplepenguins

Jan 21, 2004 Jordan_Thompson

But it's Purple Pandas, so http://www.freewebs.com/purplepandas... just so you know.

Jan 21, 2004 Mart

Who gives a shit?! No-one! Why did you even change from 710fsw in the first place?

Jan 21, 2004 Jordan_Thompson

I was just saying so people would know. Like in case they do want to check my site out. Is it illegal just to say my sites name as a little reminder and/or advertisment to visit my site? I like having traffic on my site too, you know.

Jan 21, 2004 Louis

Even if it was photoshopped so well that it was impossible to tell, segways go about 1 mile an hour

Jan 21, 2004 Mart

No it's not illegal. But it's unwarranted when all your sites have shit all media. And, again, why did you abandon 710fsw? What's the fucking point? People would me more inclined to look at your pics if you didn't change your site every five fucking days

Segways are still way too expensive for me.
