These do last a long time though. I had some on my old turntables and they lasted even after I grew out of them. I used to grind on rough ledges too, since I had the turntables when I was too short to grind on hand rails. My curb busters looked a little different though. There are only the two smaller holes on top of each other. There was no large hole.
the yellow and gray patches were originally replacable. i have a couple of those grindplates in my closet right now. soap wanted to put out all kinds of replacement colors that you could buy when your grindplates got worn down a bit.
obviously they never went through with those in production, they were just a solid material. however the solid material is much harder than your normal grindplates so they still stand up to all kinds of wear and tear.
Yeah broox is totally right my septums have a curb buster on the right shoe anyway, the curbs that i usually hit at work tore up my scabs with the original uhf plate but my curb busters not even touched after a whole 8 hour shift of abuse. These plates rock!
The plugs were originally supposed to be available in different densities of nylon so that you could swich the plug to go slower or faster on different surfaces, I believe most of the Crowbars came with a soft clear translucent plug and a hard plug. Unfortunatly the shape of the plate didn't come out anywhere close to the original mold that I hand made from clay. The royale side was supposed to have close to a 90 degree angle groove with much beefier sides that would keep the edge of the shoe off the curb and allow you to slide for miles.
Brake pads have plenty of use. A - yes, losing speed generally happens when you brake; B - you won't lose control if you 'know what you are doing'; and C - proper tweak comes from the knees, not the ankles
Not really, they are very good....They're just hardcore. They can take a beatings from ledges really well...But even waxed ledges are rough, they'll murder your plates. But not so much these
yeah, these things are like an inch thick on one side. my friend had some crowbars, and they where so thick, then my other friend bought hers and they where like mega.
Dude, you still have to wax ledges, these arent magic plates.... Its just even waxed ledges destroy your plates. But these can take a lot more of a beating
i know but i dont know were to get a pair of BBKs. ebay dosent have size 11/12. Hey AnthoFlex do you know were the best place to get them by any chance?
I got these today along with my ass-kicking hat and i must say they feel heavy but its good, i can now do a cab driver alot better and they have a bunch of dots on them. I think these might be one of my favorite plates
No, thats direspectful, i got them from my good friend Steve Deel. i still use them, they are fucking awesome on ledges....im not afraid to rip these plates up on rocky ledges
these things are tanks. like urban assault vehicles man. when the A-bomb hits, it'll be cockroaches, old steel remotes from the 80s, and curbbusters in the world. they'll spawn a new race of bad ass plates.
If anybody can find some size 13 Curb Busters.... Please tell me. Otherwise, I will buy out all the size 13 BBKs and UHF plates because.... Well... look.
oh those are fine...just dirty, clean them with an old tooth brush, thats what i do. check out the post about "worst grindplates" somewhere in the forum, renny makes a good point of how express might seem like shitty plates, but that they're really tough
yeah, they work...just looks like you where tromping through a sewer or something lol. I hate when i get mud on my plates. one time, i was in ankle deep water carrying my g/f across a small river that had developed in the court yard of a school we where at, and my ordnance got SOAKED. i just took out the screws, and plates and let them dry for a few days and they where good as new. some damn fine footwear if i do say so myself.
Nonono lol, the thing wrong with the white plates isn't that they're dirty, but that they have almost no groove anymore. I jumped on top of the handrail next to the laundry mat and I had almost no lock on compared to the new BBKs I'm using.
And while I'm on curbs, they don't lock on anymore either.
if you hit some low rails (like a PR) then you'll wear the groove back AND it will smooth them out. I have PR i grind at a playground to smooth my plates out. it works, trust me, they'll be good as new within and hour.
and yes, my socks where soaked, but the shoes where tough. they didn't even smell wet. i was so proud of them lol.
The Royale and Farf sides of this plate are bulky for 1 reason....maybe two
1. It has a little bit of concave, to theres lock-in
2. Its so damn big that its like standing on a platform while grinding, making balancing a Breeeze...i used my pair once and only once...i really dunt like em though
oh by the way, yanninicole,
why don't you stop your retarded-ass comments? If you got sumthing real to say, then say it...i doubt a 9-year old acts like that, now grow up!
These are pretty decent plates but as the name says, they're only meant for curbs. Painted curbs. So unless you're grinding some marble ledges or a good and proper rail, don't be looking to fuck these up by grinding on some unwaxed or unslick surface.
I'm looking for some CB's, but I can't find any. If I can get a pair or two in size 11/12, you would make me a very happy person. And yourself 30-60 dollars richer.
yeah anyone that wants to buy curb busters or whatever, just make a thread showing your interest, leave your email in your account profile, and I will get back to you soon. im sorry guys ive just been swamped, things are just really busy to no end. being a grown up can really suck.
ok. curb busters are pretty awesome, if they made these replaceable grind plate shoes a little lighter though they would be so much better you guys are right

The only time I need to grind on ledges with my bbks is to get a nice groove in the plate.
But now, I can just tear up my curb busters.
These plates last SOOOOO long.
Seriously, HSL should release these.
